Mystic Circle of the Young Maidens

144" x 72"
Acrylic + oil on Canvas   TRiptych
In the enchanting triptych "Mystic Circle of the Young Maidens" Paula Arciniega unravels the secret games of young girls played atop the summit at night. Capturing the essence of Stravinsky's melody, these maidens dance in circles, marking with their feet the confined space where the chosen one will undergo a ritual. The most beautiful girl is selected, stripped naked, and adorned with flowers in preparation for the mystical sacrifice. Paula's artistry beautifully aligns with Stravinsky's reordering of a Russian folk song, creating a unique visual interpretation that pays homage to the music's rich narrative. Each panel of the triptych unfolds a captivating chapter, inviting viewers into the mysterious world where music and art seamlessly intertwine.
