Bach Double Violin Concerto

Concerto for 2 Violins, Strings and Continuo in D Minor, BWV 1043
48" x 36"
oil on Canvas
private collection
The Double Violin Concerto sings in dialogue—two voices entwined, at once distinct and inseparable. Bach’s counterpoint becomes a luminous web, each violin weaving through shadow and light, creating a tapestry of tension and release. Paula Arciniega’s painting listens to this intertwining, where blue depths and sudden bursts of color echo the concerto’s perpetual motion. It is a meditation on duality: conversation and echo, flight and grounding, unity born from contrast.
